The First Round Table on Perfusion in the Republic of Kazakhstan

On July 20–21, 2024, the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted its first professional round table dedicated to perfusion and extracorporeal technologies — “Perfusion 360: A Look into the Future.”
The event became the first specialized national platform to bring together professionals working in the field of extracorporeal technologies, including perfusionists and perfusion specialists, to discuss current professional challenges and future development prospects.
The round table was attended by specialists from various regions of Kazakhstan, representatives of clinical centers and medical organizations, as well as experts interested in the development of perfusion practice and extracorporeal life support.
The discussions addressed the following key topics:
  • the current state of perfusion in Kazakhstan;
  • the role of the perfusionist within the multidisciplinary healthcare team;
  • professional collaboration and exchange of experience;
  • prospects for the development of extracorporeal technologies in the country;
  • the need to establish a professional community and sustained professional dialogue.
The round table “Perfusion 360: A Look into the Future” marked an important milestone in the formation of a professional communication platform and laid the foundation for future educational and professional initiatives of the Kazakhstan Society of Perfusionists.
The first round table made it possible to:
  • identify key directions for the development of perfusion in Kazakhstan;
  • create a space for open professional dialogue;
  • define priorities in education, standards, and safety;
  • strengthen collaboration among specialists from different regions of the country.
